How can I get Sticky Fingers Cooking classes at my school?
We would love to reach out to your school and set things up! Please contact us.
How do I sign up?
You’ll need to either “Create an account/login” to enroll your child through our website. Select the cooking session that you want to join and add it to your cart! OR you’ll see instructions on how to register for the cooking class directly with your child’s school.
If I want to take the class after the session has already started, can I still sign up?

It depends! If the class is full, you are welcome to join the waitlist. If registration is through the school, check with them to see if late sign ups are allowed. If registration is through our website, tuition will be prorated if the class or camp has already started so you will only pay for the classes your child attends.

What is your refund policy?

OH NO.... I'm late to pick up my child! LATE PICK-UP POLICY & FEES:

All of us at Sticky Fingers Cooking understand that traffic or just plain life can sometimes make a person late. Please keep in mind that parents that pick up children late have an effect on everyone at our cooking classes. Call us and let us know ASAP: 303-648-4078 extension #1

In addition to your child becoming upset if you do not arrive as usual, remember that our Chef/Instructors are professionals and some have children of their own, with their own commitments to attend to after class. Because traffic and other outside factors are always unpredictable, allowing a margin in your travel time is key. Since the primary responsibility of Sticky Fingers Cooking® is your child’s protection and well-being, the following policy is set in place in the event that you do not pick up or arrange to have someone pick up your child at the end of class:

  • Sticky Fingers Cooking® will attempt to reach all emergency contact numbers, including parents or guardians at home, work and cell phone numbers, as provided by parent/guardian on the child’s registration form. It is your responsibility as parents or guardians to provide the number of any and all persons who you authorize to pick up your child and to keep Sticky Fingers Cooking informed of any changes in these contact numbers.
  • If Sticky Fingers Cooking is unable to reach anyone at any of the contact numbers provided by the parent/guardian, and one-half hour has passed, Sticky Fingers Cooking® will arrange with the school to leave your child in after care. Sticky Fingers Cooking® may need to call the police if the after school care is not available.
  • LATE PICK-UP FEES: A late fee of $5.00 per child will be assessed after the first 10 minutes and an additional $1.00 per child for every minute after that will be assessed until your child is picked up. Invoices will be sent via email and will fees will go directly to your child's Chef/Instructor. This fee must be paid in full prior to your child’s next class.
  • Under all circumstances, the staff of Sticky Fingers Cooking® will not hold your child responsible in any way for the late pick up, and discussion of this issue will only be with the parent or guardian.
What if my child has an allergy or dietary restriction?

ALL dietary restrictions, food sensitivities, intolerances and allergies are always accommodated.

All children can cook and enjoy food, no matter what their restrictions may entail. Our recipes are always 100% NUT FREE! Registration through our website allows you to notify us of allergies before class so that our chefs can be prepared in advance. If your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions, please indicate what kind of allergy during the registration process.

How do I know if a cooking class is online/virtual or in-person?

When you are looking at your state specific school program page, in-person classes will be listed under the IN-PERSON SCHOOL PROGRAMS and online/virtual classes will be listed under the ONLINE SCHOOL PROGRAMS tab.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

In order to ensure that all of our young chefs have a safe and enjoyable experience in the classroom, we limit class size and require each participating child to pay for a spot in class. At this time, we do not offer sibling discounts. If you have a special circumstance that you would like to speak with us about, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us.

What if my child is below the age requirement?

We ask that students meet the minimum age requirement listed in each class or camp description. For in-person programs, the age guideline is there to support our instructors so that they are able to equally help all young chefs.

The class at my child's school is CANCELED due to a snow day or school closure. Do I get a refund?

Sticky Fingers Cooking® does not refund for snow days or school closures. We work with your school and do our very best to schedule a make-up cooking class for your child! Please note: If a cooking class is canceled directly from Sticky Fingers Cooking for example, our chef is sick and not able to teach a class, you will get a 100% refund on tuition for that day.

What precautions are being taken for in-person cooking programs to help stop the spread of COVID-19?
The safety of our students is our top priority. We are following local and CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID. Below are some of the additional precautions we are taking:
  • Class size will be limited.
  • Hand washing will take place every 20-30 minutes. Hand washing before, during, and after class will be required.
  • Extra time will be taken to sanitize the workspace and equipment before and after each class.
  • Mask requirements differ per state and facility for students. We will notify you if masks do become a requirement.
Can I sign up my child if they do not attend the school in which the cooking class is held?

No. Due to our agreements with the schools that we teach in, all children that participate in our cooking classes must attend that school. We do have some classes that are open to the public and they are stated so on our website. If you want Sticky Fingers Cooking® at your child’s school, please let us know! We would love to set up a cooking class at your student's school!

Class Etiquette?

Our number one goal is to maintain a safe, comfortable, encouraging and supportive environment in which children can learn to love cooking and eating healthy foods.

We guide students by providing a safe, engaging, hands-on learning experience throughout class. Our goal is to empower them to feel confident and safe while making their meal. We do this by asking the children lots of questions. Students are expected to act as they would during the regular school day by being respectful of our instructor, other students, and the space we are using.

If a student is acting disrespectfully toward our instructor, fellow students or the classroom, we will notify the students family and the school. If the behavior is not improved, any inappropriate or disruptive conduct will be grounds for dismissal from the Sticky Fingers Cooking® class without a refund. Sticky Fingers Cooking® reserves the right to deny enrollment based on a student's behavior.

Where can I find the waiver for parents/guardians?

When you complete registration through our website, you will be prompted to sign our waiver.

If you have registered through a school or camp, the waiver will be sent to you via email and can be completed online.

Can I volunteer in my child’s cooking class?

Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering in your child’s class! Every school has different requirements so we'll need to check with your child's school.

How do I sign up?

Select the cooking session that you want to join. You’ll be instructed to either “create an account/login” to enroll your child through our website -OR- you’ll see instructions on how to register for the cooking class directly with your child’s school/venue.

If I want to take the class after the session has already started, can I still sign up?

As long as space is available, our website will display the prorated tuition if the class or camp has started.

Yikes! An online cooking class is SOLD OUT and my child wants to join... Do you have a wait list?
YES! Please email us at info@stickyfingerscooking.com or call us 303-648-4078. It is common for our online cooking classes to fill up quickly! We will do our best to get your child enrolled in the current session.
What if my child has an allergy or dietary restriction?
Any and ALL dietary restrictions and food allergies are ALWAYS ACCOMMODATED! We want all children to be able to cook and enjoy food, no matter their restrictions. All of our recipes are 100% NUT FREE. Allergy substitutions are provided.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes, only one registration is required per household for our online cooking classes. Siblings are 100% free.
Will ingredients and equipment be provided for online classes?
No, you will be required to provide the ingredients and common kitchen tools. We take food allergies very seriously and we want you to use the same food ingredient staples that your family currently uses. We will send you a detailed list of ingredients that include food allergy substitutes.
How do I get the shopping lists and recipes for my child’s online class?
Lists of the ingredients and equipment needed will be emailed to you a couple days before your scheduled cooking class.
Do I have to supervise my child?
That is up to you! Only you know if your child can be left unsupervised. Our chefs will be there to virtually guide them however unable to help in an emergency. Please use your own best judgment.
What happens if my child's online cooking class is cancelled?

Sometimes we need to cancel an online class or camp due to low enrollment. If we cancel your child’s class, we will notify you via the email address you provided at the time of registration, reschedule your child’s class OR provide a refund.

How much do the groceries cost for each online cooking class?
To make our full recipes, expect to spend between $8-$12 per class recipe. All of our recipes are plant based, delicious, nutritious and wallet-friendly! You are welcome to add and adapt any of our recipes to included meats and/or fish if you’d like.
What can I do to prepare my kid chef for each online cooking class?
Besides having all of the ingredients ready and recipe printed and within reach, we recommend that you double-check the Equipment List prior to the start of class and involve your kid chef in finding the items around the kitchen. They will learn where items are stored and can help with clean-up! Also, some recipes require ingredients be pre-cooked or pre-cut (i.e. potatoes cooked, pasta boiled, apples cut into chunks for kids to chop).

Please check the recipe and perform those steps in advance. Please log into our Zoom on-line class about 5-10 minutes beforehand to ensure your child has everything he/she needs for a successful class.
My child’s schedule has changed or we missed the class. What can we do?

Technical difficulties happen. We will provide you with the recorded version of class for you to watch and complete the recipe when the time is good for you! We will not provide a refund for a missed class.
