Meet Sergio + Priscilla, the Duo Bringing Sticky Fingers Cooking® to Seattle!

September 24, 2025 by Emily Moore
  • Scratch cooking with kids? Why Seattle for anything less?

  • Q. What did the llama say after cooking class?
A: “Alpaca my own lunch — all by myself!

We are Peruvians, we love food, our culture is related to food, that is the circle of every social aspect of our lives… and when we share the food that we love, we are sharing the culture that we love!” – Sergio Victorio Queija

That deep connection to food and culture is now part of what children in East Seattle can experience through Sticky Fingers Cooking® classes and camps. With Sergio and his wife, Priscilla Portocarrero Corcuera, at the helm, kids will get the chance to try new flavors and build skills in the kitchen, while discovering how cooking connects cultures.

From Lima to Bogotá to Sammamish, Sergio and Priscilla have carried their love of cooking and culture, sharing meals and traditions with their daughters, Shaya, 17, and Illika, 16. Now, Priscilla, a psychologist and Spanish teacher, and Sergio, a computer science engineer with 20+ years in sales and marketing, who also loves to teach, are blending their strengths to create something meaningful for Seattle-area families.

“This [opportunity] is unique for us because it is a mixture of our individual passions and as a couple: passion for food and passion for kids! We both love to teach, and we love to share our culture,” says Priscilla.

Erin Fletter, founder and CEO of Sticky Fingers Cooking®, adds: “Sergio and Priscilla bring something special to Sticky Fingers Cooking®. They will probably be teaching me and the team about Peruvian food and business as they ramp up their Sticky Fingers Cooking East Seattle territory! My mom was from Seattle, and I still have family on Bainbridge Island. I am so honored and proud that Sergio and Priscilla are bringing Sticky Fingers Cooking to a city that I have a deep personal connection with.”

The couple is eager to add their Peruvian favorites to Sticky Fingers Cooking’s global recipe library, which already includes treats like Cinnamon Dusted Peruvian Churro Bites + Fabuloso Fried Machu Picchu Bananas + Ancient Inca Hot Chocolate Dipping Sauce.

So, parents, get ready—your kids can now chop, stir, and taste their way through global recipes in East Seattle. Find a Sticky Fingers Cooking® class near you and let us help your child discover the joy of cooking!
