Father’s Day is Coming Up

• What did Dad say after cracking a joke at breakfast? “I’m EGGS-tra funny today!”

This year, let’s skip the ties and aftershave and get kids cooking up some fun for Dad. Here’s a meaningful, hands-on way for kids to celebrate the dads (or dad figures) in their lives: by discovering their favorite flavors and making a dish just for them.

Step 1 – The Interview

First, kids get to play Culinary Detective. Have them sit down with Dad for a little Q&A:

• What do you like best: Sweet, Salty, Spicy, or Savory?
• What’s your favorite kind of meal: breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, or dessert?
• Is there one ingredient you just love?
• Is there a food that reminds you of a happy memory?

Step 2 – The Recipe Search
With Dad's flavor clues in hand, it’s time to do some more sleuthing.

• Search for recipes with Dad’s favorite ingredient(s)  
• Browse by meal type or cuisine.
• ​​​​​​​Find easy, hands-on recipes they can make or help make — maybe even one they’ve cooked in class!

Step 3 – Kitchen Time!
With a little help from a grown-up, kids can gather ingredients, prep, and bring the dish to life.

Step 4 – Keepsake
Want to make it extra special? Have kids write out the recipe on a homemade card, decorate it, and add a sweet message or drawing.
